Abilities

The Phase: Prove Your Loyalty!

Ateraxon is Obsidirain's third greatest machine ever built (however, his most weak minion), and sends him on a test to prove his worth. Ateraxon is a standard tank and spank, but it has a few twists, especially to avoid his attacks. Ateraxon has periodically summoned mobs that appear as well that serve as distractions. Ateraxon uses a host of attacks and has a meter on his body that represents his damage resistance (20% - 80%) that can only be decreased by luring him into searing hot holes made by his laserbeams.

•  Ateraxon Smash: Ateraxon will slam his cudgel down, instantly killing anyone within 2 yards of the hit and deal a maximum of 214,546 damage to all targets within 10 yards of the blast.
•  Acid Overpour: All enemies within 10 yards will be hit by periodic acid attacks, lowering their base haste and health regeneration by 10% per time hit. Stacks up to 25 times. Lasts 8 seconds.
•  Breaking Foot: Ateraxon prepares a swift kick that will hit enemies in a 10 yard wide, 20 yard straight line for up to 340,000 damage. 2 second cast time.
  •  Gear Shuffle: After delivering a blow, Ateraxon prepares to close the exhaust ports, leaving an opening. Enemies can deal 2x their damage for 5 seconds. Afterwards, Ateraxon enrages for 10 seconds, and during that time, uses Acid Overpour more often.
•  Laserbeam: Ateraxon takes in a deep breath and fires a deadly precise laser beam out of his mouth at the raid, dealing 3,000,000 damage per second to all enemies hit starting with the aggrotic. One shot will melt a pillar.
•  Stomp Waves: Ateraxon stomps heavily, dealing 200,000 damage to enemies hit by a shockwave; which are avoidable by jumping. They will take off one section of the pillars.
  •  Pillar Toss: If enemies continue to hide behind pillars, Ateraxon's speed increases by 750% for 3 seconds, and grabs a pillar, and throws it at the raid. It instantly kills anyone hit within it by 15 yards.

Preparation

Ateraxon features dodgeable attacks, but has a hefty melee attack. His unique defence modifier (which features in a bar above his head) is his extension of longetivity. Really it doesn't get harder, it gets longer in the fight, which the time spent is essential. For example, if all the pillars are gone, you cannot hide behind anything for Laserbeam.

Tactics

When engaging Ateraxon, there is always three (four if you count Gear Shuffle) abilities he always uses when in auto-attack combat. Ateraxon Smash is a devastating melee attack that requires dodging. It's not worth getting one-shot with his hammer, but you can still survive (at least at Level 97+ anyways with good armor) by moving to the sides. Every few seconds, inevitable Acid Overpour will rain in all directions randomly. These are dodgeable but they aren't trivial to do so. Lastly, Breaking Foot is a sudden attack that also requires dodging; it takes time to memorize where his kick will be placed, but watch the aggrotic. When Ateraxon uses Gear Shuffle, hammer on the offense on him before he closes his exhaust ports, then quickly stand back because he will enrage. Acid Overpour will be utilized more often and is therefore more deadly at the time because your stacks will be increasing.

The last three attacks happen after a certain while (undetermined) and will start with Laserbeam. Ateraxon's arena has 12 pillars to hide behind. Run to the nearest pillar, and the Laserbeam will hit it, but it will reduce it to melted rubble. Stomp Waves are an attack used if any enemies are behind the pillars. Three waves come at once, so up to 600,000 damage can be dealt. The pillars will also be hit. Each pillars has 10 "health", and can take ten of these waves. If a pillar is hit by the waves, the falling rubble can deal periodic 75k damage to the player(s). Lastly, Pillar Toss will be used if even one player remains behind a pillar. This is Ateraxon's most deadly attack, and it can hit ANY player regardless of the threat table. And within 15 yards, that attack most likely will kill a few players.

Before engaging Ateraxon, up your defence and your attack modifiers before engaging, and use Fortitude prayers to replenish your healing.
