Trivia[]
The entire questline is a metaphor for combatting "inner demons" while at the same time claiming an objective. As you go into near-imaginary worlds hidden beneath the Kingdom of the New Sigil, you fight specific mobs (such as an Aspect Demon) which relate to things like rage and evil innocence, and solve derelict and tough puzzles (associated with purging and finding forgiveness) in order to claim a shard (salvation). The whole quest through the metaphor tells you about Deathlius' status; he sunk into turmoil, can't escape, and requires salvation, which in turn is you, Salvator, and Tylious. The reason he speaks to you in Die and not Common, is because getting out of trouble, evil, and turmoil isn't trivial. Boss mobs like Wyrmvatez represent turmoil struggles, as Wyrmvatez was already killed by Deathlius, but his turmoil reexperiences itself since he is inside Esquire's created shell.
